Sign at the cemetery on 52 (Jefferson) here in Joilet says 100 degrees at 5pm. Truck temp says 99. Phone says 96, so it is plenty hot.

101 here in Cortland Illinois ......love the summers and love the winters but anything over 80 is just uncalled for......lol . End of week temps look to be back in the 60s-70s

C'mon Ez!! Customers don't care if the f ing attic 130 degrees for us AC guys!!! Don't work on em unless we can get in at 3-4 in the morning and out by ten. Heat stroke-no joke. I'm not losing a guy for a single job because of that crap. may cost us some jobs, but the guys are still here, healthy. Attics are no goo this time of year for us "Northern boys"

peter - Yup...that's what's going on here too! I was on a rooftop job with bigdaddy yesterday...but it was downtown so there was a nice 96 degree "breeze"!! Attics are a nasty place to be!

My summer motto - I hate the heat but I like to eat!

Is 94.6 on my back steps in the shade...

Rooftops can be pretty hot to.
We were pretty much non stop since saturday, monday and tuesday 7am to 10pm for me. And for today 7am to 8pm.
As much as we hate the heat we do love it to. Keeps us busy.

Hot attic?

That reminds me of the summer of 2008, when I finally decided it was time to add insulation in my attic. Blown in loose-fill cellulose insulation. I had earlier called in a debt from a friend, who agreed to help with the insulation.

The project didn't exactly come together in a timely fashion, but my bud finally "got a 'round tuit" on July 21st, in spite of a relatively warm high temperature forecast, he volunteered to work in the attic, while all I had to do was keep dumping the bales of insulation into the blower in the back yard. I proposed that we do it at a late/cooler date, but he wouldn't have any of it, insisting that we "get 'r done" without further delay.

June 21, 2008 turned out to be the hottest day of the year, at 115°F — in the shade. The temperature in the attic had to be easily 135°F if not more. I do not know how he did it up in that attic, but we sure did "get 'r done" on that date!
