How fast have you gone?

93 Camaro (new style) with the factory GM upgrade superchip..It was my car and I was dumb and stupid..I ran it till the fuel was automatically shut off at 143 or 144 I can't quite remember.. All I know is that the front end felt really light, and I was young and stupid where I did this.. Now I consider fast getting to work early.

You are lucky it didn't spin around on you. There was a show several years back on Discovery or TLC that talked about a guy that was using one of those to try and set a land speed record. I forget exactly what they called it but something like the aerodynamic center of the vehicle was not correct for high speed runs, somewhere around 150mph the car naturally wants to turn around and becomes more stable moving backwards than forwards. They showed a video of the car spinning at 150 and stabilizing moving backwards. I am sure the driver had some cleaning up to do after that.

145 in a friends Taurus SHO. I think I have gone 130 in my Intrepid R/T, I was way past where the speedo ends at 120.

I've owned a couple corvettes in my time had them both well over 120+ Was in my 76 Sting Ray passing a line of cars once got along side a lady in a lifted 4x4 truck she did not see me along side her she decided she was gonna pass too she swerved out to pass and the nose of my vette went under her back tire filpped that truck over nose first in the air it came down into the trunk of the car in front of her then it skidded down the road on it's roof. That was one **** of a ride! no one got hurt though.

I wish I could claim to have caught a ride in an F-16 from Luke AFB, but the best I can do is claim a ride in one of their simulators (or are they stimulators? It sure was a stimulatin' experience! :) ) Does that count? (Darn, I failed to record the maximum speed attained in the simulator!)

It was a real hoot attending their live-fire demo some years back, at Gila Bend Auxiliary Field, the hub for operations and maintenance on the Barry M. Goldwater Range, one of the finest air-to-air and air-to-ground tactical aviation range complexes and airspace structures in the world. I particularly liked watching the "Wart Hogs" (A-10 Thunderbolts) from Davis-Monthan AFB. Love that aircraft! A tank killer aircraft, highly maneuverable at low speed and low altitude, and silent but deadly! I sure would like to snag a ride in that one!

I also once had the good fortune to fly over the Barry M. Goldwater Range at a very low altitude on an Easter Sunday, from Ajo, AZ to Yuma, a distance of ≈ 90 nm (100 sm), when the range was "cold". Absolutely awesome!

113mph - 17' hydrostream W/ 240 bridge port
138mph- 38 Cigarette W triple 590 Hawk motors
119.6mph - 700 IS MachI @ NSSR 1000' speed run
140mph - Viper

Set up/crewed for 410 Sprints. That was probably the most amazing display of speed!!!

I have seen 105 in my 2008 prius before. The gas pedal was not stuck either. I think i was still getting like 40mpg at that point so I felt pretty good about it.

145 on some yamaha jap bike

Too fast to dare look at the speedo in my Pro-Street '74 Dodge Challenger. Overdriven BDS 8-71 supercharger on a 440. Hemi 4 speed & 4:56 gears.

Used to have a Nitrous injected tunnel ram'd small block with 5:13 gears that was quick & fast. You could glance at the gauges with that setup. With the blower engine your best to use a pro light!

Hit a deer on my thundercat at 110 m.p.h on the st. ignace railroad grade one morning 10 yrs ago..luckily he went down the side of the sled hitting the corner of the hood and wacking my shoulder a bit...talk about changing you riding style after that episode!

GPS. It did not seem like I was going that fast though. This was done while on my sled.
