Looking at a used 2005 MXZ 500SS wint Rev but pull start....4000 miles in good condition. NSDA and KBB say @ $2800-$3500 but that seems high. Am I wrong?

I agree E but what gets my goat is at local dealers I can find some 2008-2009 new GSX's in the 6G range. Is 4000 miles newer worth the extra 3 g's?

Yea 4000 miles less for 3g more. Yea it's worth it, not just a new sled but a warentee also. But as ezra said there are deals out there. I haven't personally rode a new XP chassis but I have heard that the 09 is much better then the 08's.

$2,800 sounds low to me. Think about how much you would want to get for it if you were selling yours! That sled should fetch $3,000 to $3,500 all day long!

2800 is a fair price. I just sold a 2002 Legend with 7000 miles for 1700 an a 8000 mile 05 GTX for 3150 with a new Track on it. Both Sleds were 500ss Engines. Hopefully it was taken care of and stored properly.

Skidoo's will generaly bring about 300-500 Dollars more per comparable used Sled than Artic Cat or Polaris. Maybe its the popularity of new Skidoo's affecting the used Market some.

The year means alot more than the Mileage. If you buy a new leftover 05 Sled now and go out and put 3000 Miles on it this winter, what is it worth this spring?

Dairy, There has been many improvements from the 05 to the new 08 or 09 Sleds and in my opinion the 3000 extra is worth it if you ride alot. The new ones will get 5 MPG better and if your Tall the 05 is not very comfortable compared to the 08 XP. The 08 XP is the same Sled as a 09.

I will say this the 05 Rev is a very tough and dependable Sled. I think the new XP/XR Chassis are the same but we need one more year to prove that. We have some XP's over 5000 miles now in our Group and I want to see how they do at 8000-10000 miles.

that is crazy talk Longtrack. just ask any yami guy they will tell you you cant get 8000 to 10000 on a 2 stroke.I always buy non current and always will because I run them in to the ground they start as my sled then the backup then the extra sled at the cabin then parts.some times they go from my sled straight to parts when trees and things get in the way of forward momentum

Longtrack I have to disagree. $2,800 is wholesale and those deals do pop up from time to time but that does not mean it is the value of the machine. If an old ZX chassis is worth $1,700 with 8000 miles I would certainly think that an 05 REV with half that many miles would fetch more than $2,800!!! Like I said the deals do exist but I would not hesitate to pay over $3,000 for a clean 05 500ss. Great sled with a proven motor!

Everyone wants to trade at NADA and buy at KBB. Split the difference between the two books and that is closer to actual market value but it does all depend on what the machine is!!!
