I do it both ways.....each tastes different too. I do the husk off on the grill and husk on around a campfire.
A more important question is, do you find corn that pops when you put your fingernail to a kernel, or do you like your corn kernels solid?
There is only a very short window to get the pop kernel stuff, but to me, that makes all the difference in what you end up tasting after yah cook it.
