Arctic cat 048 belt. They last longer than the polaris 115 and you can get them for like $65 online. Dont just use them as a back up. Use them all the time. I pulled the chords out of my 115 in like 300 miles. I have beat on a cat 048 for 400 miles since and it is still dialed.

Man!..you have some bad luck with those poos & spend big bucks on belts. Yamaha belts are $75 & never broke one in 17K miles just change for no reason every 4 to 6000 miles.

And yet the turbos eat them at as low as 400 miles
we were up in the UP for a test ride session and the demo sled with 700 miles limped back with a bad belt....not sure if that was the first one it lunched but on a demo sled?...you'd think they'd make sure it wasn't gonna blow.

Not sure on the 2012, Polarisdan but the new AXYS belts is around $200 as well and Gates recently came out with one for it for under $90.00.

Over 8,000 on my Apex XTX belt, had to change the first one at 1,200 miles because dealer forgot to put oil cap back on after changing oil.And yeah I know I should change it but wanna see how long it will go. Like Whitedust said around $70. I so miss my poos , the belt eating machines. NOT

Probably want to change it engine won't let you over rev via electronics but Hp down + gas mpg & top end will both be down too. If top end not there you know why. One of the best & easiest ways to determine Apex worn belt is top end down.....new belt & haul balls again. Yamaha clutch defection PITA not worth doing.

ive been getting roughly 6000 miles on my Polaris belts on my 02 edge x. 3 belts after 17400 miles. must be the newer poos that go through the belts?

HUH?.....take off secondary and add 3 washers on 3 bolts is hard?

Yep compared to doo clickers but not sure about new edrive + once you put in spacers or go to far the never ending squeal....not worth it to me anymore belts last forever not much gained by peaking defelction on Apex.

So I can run the Cat 048 belt on a 2012 Pol Rush Pro R 600? No issues? I am not real comfortable doing that, but if others are without issues...

No warranty issues. I have friends running the cat 048 on turbo Pro RMK's. Im running mine on a stock PRO. I was skeptical, but actually felt an improvement in performance with the cat belt. I would worry about it one bit. IMO it is a no brainer. You may have to adjust belt deflection for the cat belt, but that takes like 13 1/2 seconds.

BTW, this belt is not the one the new cat's run. Its similar to the cat 046 belt from the older M sleds, and crossfires. Solid belt. Poor clutch calibration/alignment will kill even the best belts.

Anyone here familiar with Brad Story? He basically invented the turbo 2 stroke. He builds some of the baddest, fastest, highest horsepower turbo sleds around. Guess who figured out the 048 cat belt was the way to go for the Polaris sleds that run the 115 belt? Hint..... It wasn't me.

I've also been getting great results with my Poo belts. 600 RMK with 5000 miles on it, original belt. I don't ever do any long, hi speed runs with it. Just lots of forest roads/swamps/rivers/etc... My last sled the belt lasted 6000 miles.

If your poo lists the 115 belt, then yes, you can run the cat 048 belt. I believe the 048 belt was the stock belt on the cat turbo 660?

Tech info.

Polaris 115 belt size - 46.77" (l) x 1.46" (w)
Cat 048 belt size - 47" (l) x 1.453" (w)

So take about one turn out on the deflection adjuster and run the cat belt. Its damn near a 3 for 1 deal.

Also, just because a belt does not fall apart does not mean that it is still "good". Belt dust comes from somewhere. Your belt. It is continually getting skinnier. Sure, deflection can be adjusted, but are you also adjusting primary sheave clearance, Clarence? Probably not. That's the benefit of the $65 cat belt. Swap them out every 1000 miles since your on the 3 for 1 program, and the seat of your pants will appreciate it. 2000, 3000, 6000 miles on a belt is impressive for sure, but surely not "optimal".
