hahah I was wondering,

For Bond, go east on 2 out of ironwood to 45 in watersmeet go north go 8 miles into paulding go right on Bond Falls rd by the General store(and you should stop by and say HI cause you'll pass our place) the falls are about 4 miles down the road

for Agate come back out to 45 and head north again go to M28 go east and I think its about 8 miles and you will see the sigh

they each have board walks and are beautiful

Lake of the clouds, and brockway are two that come to mind. There are several more and if you go to the ask John section on this board, he will likely steer you to a few more.

There is always the falls up in the Porkies too. The walkways alone are pretty impressive. Do not know the name, but there are at the turn on the South Boundry Road.

BTW, I think it is awesome that you are taking them up there. Just do not go during the biting fly season.

There are some nice falls west of Lake in the clouds. Nothing big that I remember but nice. There is a lot to do. You could also hit a bunch of the lighthouses.

Oh yea, west of Copper Harbor (maybe between Eagle River and Eagle Harbor) there is a Monk's monistary. It is cool to drive by and stop at their jam and bread shop. Expensive but they're real live monks LOL.

check the other threads for falls pics...

As long as you are in the Ironwood area there are the Black River Falls, i was there a couple weeks ago and it was really nice. I dont know how old Mom and Dad are but one of the falls viewing spots is only about 100 yards from the parking lot. Its pretty cool because as soon as you step out of your vehicle you can hear the rushing water...... The Main route through Ironwood is route 2, coming from the west/southwest(Hurley) take route 2 east then Lake st. north for about 5 minutes then a right (heading east) on Airport rd. That road will lead you to The Black River road, take a left follow the signs.

There is a lighthouse in Copper Harbor that you can either take a boat ride too or walk (from side of harbor the lighthouse is on). There is also a lighthouse in Eagle Harbor and Eagle River. I know there are a few more but haven't been to them.

Road side views: Eagle Harbor is one of my favorite road side ports up there in the Keweenaw. I have a buddy whose family has a home right on the road side/bay up there. The light house is neat to check out. Just down the road south is Eagle River, stop in a Fitzgerald's for bite to eat and a beer and their shore line views. Also right at the bridge in ER they have the falls to look at or if your mother and uncle can handle a short walk there is a trail up the road out of ER a bit (1/2 mile maybe on the left as your going south, just past the cemetary) to go walk to the upper falls of the eagle river.

Tons of antique stores dot the area. I've seen a few Calumet, I'm just not sure how many are open now. I always wanted to stop in the one with the huge wooden spoon out front just south of Ahmeek. Some year when I take my wife up there in the warmer months I'm sure we'll stop in. Check out the http://www.pasty.com for some more antique store ideas.

Lots of good ideas here.

One heads up is that Fitzgerald's is only open in the summer, but don't skip Eagle River if you want some falls you can see with a 50 foot walk. Then the road from Eagle River to Eagle Harbor has the Jacobs Creek falls right by the Monks, but their shop too is seasonal and I do not think they are open yet.

There is the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse you can drive right up to, but the one in Copper Harbor is only reached by boat.

The road up to Copper Harbor from Eagle Harbor does not have any falls, but there are some very neat vistas of the lake and some cool rocky shoreline views as well. Plus you can get onto Brockway Mountain Drive and have awesome views right from your car.

Lac La Belle and Bete Gris are also spots not to miss.

Your best bet might be to stop in at the Convention and Visitors building in Calumet (on the right hand side as you go through Calumet on 41 heading north). Donna and Nancy will be more than happy to give you maps and show you how to get to all the falls and scenic views up here.

Enjoy, no bugs yet!
