I Dislike Wind~~~~~~~

Up here in My neck of the woods, we had a nice little
3" snowfall to start out the winter season. Then the anticipation of that HUGE
Snowstorm had us All chomping at the bit!
Well,...
When you add 11 fresh inches to the 3 we had and throw in 45+mph winds,...
You get a half a yard of waist deep snow,... the other half GRASS.
Some ditches neck deep,... Most,.... GRASS.
Some spots in the woods with bountiful snow,.. coupled with fields of plowed
Rock Hard furrowed dirt. :(
Man,... if that storm could have had a little bit more moisture in it,.....
Some of us can't get to the "way up North" U.P. but just a couple times a year,...
and pray for "local snows" to pacify our appetites.
I don't own a Sail Boat,... or a Wind Mill Farm.
Though,... a small summer breeze on a 95 degree day feels good sometimes,...
Wind in the "Winter" SUCKS!
So when I hear "Blizzard" I picture what we have Now.
Kinda like the saying "Water, Water, everywhere,... but not a drop to drink"
Trail right outside the front door,.....
On one side of the road, snow up to the top of the markers,... on the other,...
3 acres of dirt.
I know, I know,... some will say,... "So ride in the snowy parts",...
Wow,... going round and round in one spot isn't snowmobiling.
Its like buying an expensive bike and riding it on a stationary stand.
I'm in it for the RIDE,... Not to harden my "buns" LOL!
Oh well.
Theres always hope for the "next" storm.
For those of you "riding",.... A BIG thumbs up! :)
For those of us "watching",.....:(
There,....
I crushed my "soapbox" LOL!

Took a ride to check out the "Local" trails situation and just had to vent. :)

THINK * SNOW!
~~EVERYWHERE!

:)

I agree with you Bigvin. I was so excited to here about the snow and as soon as they said blizzard warning a knew what will happen and it is the same around here. With all the fields we have there are still alot of areas that have dirt showing. All we can do is hope for a snowfall without the wind. That is not asking too much is it?

I seen a lake today which was bare ice after them saying we got 8-9" of snow. I can only imagine what the trail across the fields look like.

i can't believe they opened the trails in jefferson county.i've seen them close them when there was more snow on them.then you have the usual guys that hammer the gas everytime they stop or go around the corner and rip up dirt and grass.geez, leave some snow for the next guy.idiots.imo

I've been trying to make this point in the conditions sections for a few days. Trails do not look good to me.

The wind is the reason the trails are not opening here. The woods is great, the fields not to great.

BigVin, I hear ya my big bro! I joined a club near my house with the hopes of riding locally. Well, they opened the trails on Monday in Winnebago county but then closed them on Wednesday. A couple of the landowners were mad because people were riding off trail because there was no snow on the trail due to the wind. So much for riding around here.

If we ever do get some enough snow for the trails to open, we should try to hook up and go for a ride.
