They must not. My brother received a call from the DNR a few years back. They wanted him to come pick up the sled. He asked them what sled? It was a sled he sold about 3 years previously, and it now was sitting in a DNR holding area.

So he asked what was wrong with the sled? Not much, just a ski torn off on one side. Hmmn ok, why do you guys have the sled?

Some guy was riding it and hooked a mailbox while looking backwards according to witnesses. He lost a ski and his head.

Please be carefull out there gang.

Ezra, had that last year. State said I have 18 sleds. I had to check off the ones I don't have anymore. I wonder how many tax dollars were spent on that computer system for the State. I only had 2 sleds at the time. The lady at the Sec. of State office said I could be held liable for them all unless I sign off on them with her. She printed a list. There were sleds on there from the 80's. I checked them off the list and she noted it on the computer. MI needs a better system to monitor. She said, How are we to know if the sled you sold is being driven by someone else until the 3 yr. Registration runs out or if it is being used on private property? She had a good point.

well it would be dandy if I could just do it at the dmv but no that would make way to much sense it is a state run thing so you cant take care of it where you transfer titles buy tabs atv permits boat licenses car tabs no you have to go st Paul Waite in there lines and do it well that would be fine if it did not take just over 1 hr to get there

I transfer and renew my snowmobile registration at the local DMV/city hall in White Bear Lake. I was just there at noon during the snowfall - I walked in and looked around, it was the first time I've been there and there was NOBODY else waiting in line. There were about 5 workers there to do titles etc - but they said that over the whole day they only have 15 people come in for tabs etc.

We have this DMV-Secretary of state circus goat rodeo in MI too. I pick the small town office, and usually stragetically plan my trip there on a Tuesday @ 10:00. Never go on a day after a holiday and never at lunch. I'll keep me feelings to myself regarding the state workers.

Polarisrider : 18 sleds ( LOL ) your selling to wrong group of customers. 1 of these days there is going to be a snowmobile bandit robbing banks, he is going to bail on the sled and get away !!! Then the state boys come looking for you .

Whenever I sell a vehicle with a title or dnr registration I always make the buyer go with me to the local DMV/DNR registration office to transfer the title or registration to seal the deal. Bad things can happen with a vehicle, and you don't want your name on the registration when the law gets involved.

no doubt! The only time our DMV- secretary of states office moves it is when they are being time studied. Otherwise you may mistake it for the unemployment line.
