spent the day with my eyes glossed over today.
spent the day listening to a professor from the U Of M pat him self on the back about what he has had published, who he knows and his affiliations blah blah blah .My fave, how the gov needs more regulation on private property owners radon levels ,and how he hopes the health care bill finally changes laws on acceptable home radon levels and mandatory testing.think most of you know I was biting my tongue hard today.cant wait for tomorrow.
nothing like dry toast of EPA protocol and standards for radon
from a blowhard.only 12 more hr.
ok back to studying good times

Most Americans are to blind to this stuff to care. This is the stuff that the liberal teachers/college professors are teaching kids today. Direct connection to our country going straight down the ****ter.

Was this specifcally about Radon, or was that just one topic he spoke about? Many States have regualtion in place requiring testing during realestate transactions ( PA, NJ, OH, IN,) just to name a few. No regulation here in Michigan.

Just curious as I my company is in the field of Radon Mitigation.

it was Radon specific class testing 1st class then Mitigation.
in MN we are not yet regulated but will be soon so I was getting certification under my belt before it becomes law.
I have been testing for yrs with a sun 1027. done a few mitigations during big remodel lobs if needed but never a full time gig.
no one in MN has to be licensed or pull permits for testing or mitigation.
what is the average cost of a mitigation system in a basement house with a drain tile/sump system already installed your neck of the woods?
and what testing equipment do you guys use?
I would like to buy the E perm but would rather buy a late model used sled for the money.but thinking if I start marketing to do more radon The e perm is the way to go.
do you work in one of the states that require rental properties to be under 4pCi/L? bull **** law but bet makes a fat wallet the first 3 yrs after it goes in to effect in said state for already established testing/mitigation corps.

We are based out of Ann Arbor MI, and have been doing Radon mitigation and testing, lead paint testing and abatement, Asbetos testing and Mold since 1988. Michigan is unregualted for radon, but the awareness is here and it keeps us very busy. We have a fleet of Sun 1027's also and a 8 or 10 older honeywells, however our primary business is Mitigation and we have been refering out most of the testing for the past few years since the fuel prices skyrocketed. Average cost of a draintile system here is around $800. Multi family are not regulated here unless they are getting special Federal or state program funding, then they do require testing and mitigation if needed. I guess they are trying to protect those living in the low income housing. you can find us at radonpro.com. If your getting into the business and they do regulate, it can be quite a good business. I have associates in PA and NJ which are regualted states and the business they do anually is significant.

I wish you good luck in your endevor should they decide to regulate and require licensing.
