My house is about 15 miles south of Munising, MI. I am looking to have some gutters installed on my house. Not having them is causing issues. (water damage) Please post here if you are interested in quoting the job.

I have done some looking for a local installer with no luck.

We built our cabin in 2005 also south of Munising. Didn't take long to realize that we needed gutters & downspouts as well. Took a while to find a contractor but found one from Powers, MI. His crew did a great job. He came back to check them on his own dime after the first winter. Can't remember his name...looked for the paper work but it must be up at the cabin. I tried a yahoo search but nothing rang a bell. We'll be up there within the next couple of weeks. I'll try to remember to check for the contact info. Good luck. I

Please let me know if you find his name.

Here are a couple of pics of where I want gutters. Over the garage and the main house. This side of the house gets a lot of snow piled up. I do shovel it when it get insane. The front door is shot from the water hitting the concrete and splashing on to the door.

Try Rick; the guy that's building my cabin. I bet he does it. Let me know if you want his number or you can get it from George.

You might want to start by searching for local roofers. It seems like gutter guys are hard to track down through yellow pages or searches because they all work with their favorite roofers and just follow them around. They are usually busy enough following this method that they don't do any other advertising at all...

I just had my roof done in Milwaukee and the roofer used a subcontractor to replace the gutters on the house. Through my roofer I paid, $1400 for about 160 feet and 4 downspouts (so that included my roofer's markup). The gutter crew was 2 guys and they came 2 days later and were done in less than 2 hours, start to finish...

I found the contractors business card at our cabin this past weekend:

T.W. Contracting Co.
906-497-4270 or 906-295-0522

We were very happy with their work. They are based in Powers, MI. Good luck.

have you thought about installing your own?

The seamless ones are really nice, but you might be able to save some pretty good $$$ by doing it yourself.

I think I am going to see what Lowes or Menards has to offer.
I wonder if they have specially designed ones that are made t handle the snow and ice.

I figured that if there was a seamless installer in the area I would go that route. Oh well.

Don’t go the plastic/vynl route, brackets are to thick and rain goes between gutter and edge unless raining real hard. Also the big box stores kill you on the fittings.

you are correct that the plastic ones have a "thicker" mounting bracket, but if you do have watter running in between the gutters and fasha you can add a drip cap after.

You are also correct that the fittings cost you more then the actual gutter and down spouts. But from looking at the pictures he should not need to many fittings (but lots of mounting brackets).

Best thing a guy can do is to make a list of parts needed, go to Menadrs (or what ever you have in your neck of the woods, figure out what all the parts are going to cost you and go from there. Wait for one of those bag sales. Might be cheaper or only a few hundred more to hire some one, I don't know.

Good luck

I just had gutters put on at our house. We had Seelan's do the work. While I don't care for the the owner, I got to admit. They did good work. They are out of Ishpeming. The actual guy that did our work is Corey and his number is 906 204 5690. If you cut out big brother......and just have the worker do it....it may be cheaper. Worth a call?

The guys from Dewyse construction do excellent work!

They put up some seamless gutters on my cabin a few years ago. It turned out that I needed an extra downspout added after the job was done (to get a 40 foot run to drain properly). They came back, added the downspout for no additional charge.

They are over in the Engadine area, but may come over that way.

Out of all of the places listed in this thread, this was the only place to have some one answer the phone. :)

I left messages with all of the others listed in this thread. Thanks every one for your valuable input. It is very much appreciated.

Dewyse already came out to the house this morning and quoted the job.

the 2nd story is 50ft of gutter - the one story garage is 39ft.
seamless.
1 one story downspout 3x4
1 two story downspout 3x4
