I need help

I have a 98 Mach-Zwith low miles right around 2800 miles it will start but I have no lights head or tail lights also no dash lights and the hand warners dont work. Can someone out there tell me what I should look for also when I get up to right around 85 or 90 the sled stops running. Any cule as to why this is happing

sounds like your grounding out. I have a 98 xc700 that lost the headlights this winter because of groung out where it wore through a wire on the bulkhead.

It could also be the lighting coil on the stator. The triples are notorious for burning out stators. Usually it is the ignition side of the stator but the lighting coil can go as well.

Just search the forum for lighting or stator issues. I think someone had posted a test proceedure for the stator. All you need is a volt/ohm meter.

Also when checking for a wire grounding out, the most likely spot is where the wiring harness goes under the engine. You may need to pull the engine to check under it.

don't forget your voltage regulator, so much heat running thru those babies. I've owned 3 sleds in my short 15 years of life and every one of them needed a new voltage regulator.

Voltage regulator, I had to replace one on my friends 2000 Mach z this winter. His lights kept burning out I put in a new regulator and no problems after that. If your stator goes bad your sled wont run.
