Ice Bridge To Mackinac

Does anyone know if the ice bridge is open or where I can get a report? I was hoping it would be open by presidents day.

They provide a great trail report of the area including the ice bridge. As of now, no bridge but he did say that the ice is frozen to the island and if temps remain low they are hoping to have the ice bridge this year.

Megan- Thanks for the report. I didn't see anything under the trail conditions but will check again next week. I probably didn't look in the right place.

Still open water as of 3pm today.

I would not count on a safe ice bridge to the island this season.

I am thinking we will be able to do it Feb. 14 or 15th if its open. One thing for sure, I won't be the first to try crossing.

Came south over the bridge yesterday and it was still open water to the island. It will have to stay very cold if you are going to cross on the 14th.

I'd be really surprised if any ice forms at all...its nothing but open water, just isn't going to happen this year.
