Becuase thats were all the fish are, LOL. Same reason they fish where we water ski in the summer. Probably becuase the trail is packed down and they dont want the get their feet wet. :)

Do you mean the orange barrels or marker stakes are not fish locators ??? LOL, I had one a few weeks ago that was parked on the ramp so he could see the half dozen or so tip up's the he had near the ramp, and yes, the ramp was the entrance point for a marked trail.... ***.

at first I thought it was a DNR trap, they were drilling holes between the orange barrels and across the packed down route the sleds take. so we had to slow down and go way out and around them. I waved friendly and they waved back no harm done. Just kinda amused me that they have 100's of acres of ice to fish and they have to be right where we go.

I was on a marked lake trail last week and some a hole put his house on the groomed trail 2 feet from a orange poll .
takes balls to let it sit over night some kids will mess with it just for being a DB
