My brother just moved into a house on Crystal Lake in Plymouth Wisconsin. He moved in in November, so he really did not have time to "scope out" the lake for good fishing. I am going up there fishing the weekend of the 29th and was wondering if anyone has fished that lake before and could give me some direction on where to fish.

I will be up their Friday, and Saturday for sure and if the we get into the fish then we will stay and fish sunday morning. We usually only like to fish for Crappie and Blue Gil, and it is usually in shallow waters. I know this particular lake gets pretty deap, so any help on where to start is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I live about 6 miles north of Crystal Lake.
I'm on Cedar Lake.
At Crystal, fish around the islands and the points

Leaving Thursday

So, me and ny father in-law are leaving Thursday night to go up and fish on Crystal lake. Any other suggestoins on where to fish?

Thanks 08 for the info. I will definitely start their but looking for more ideas. Anyone?

How thick is the ice? How much snow on top? Just wondering.

Anymore help would be great as my father in-law is an avid fisherman and would really love to come home from a great trip instead of an average, or bad trip, and so would I. My brother has been out there fishing but hasn't found a "hole" yet. I just want to catch some fish sonce I no longer have a sled to ride, hopefully next year I will have a sled and won't be worrying about fishing.

get yourself one of the new fish cameras, drill some holes and let settle 10min. and drop camera down, if you see no fish move till you find fish. having used one for 5yrs. now i don't know how i went ice fishing with out one.

Just got back

Well, I just got home from ice fishing in Wisonsin. We fished Crystal Lake, Elkhart Lake, The South Ditch of the Marsh and also the Mill. We caught a bunch of fish, between 4 of us we probably caught over 50. 90 percent of that being caught on Elkhart on Friday between 1:30 and 4. Tha bad part is that only 4 of them were worth keeping. We didn't keep anything but could have. We caught a few Crappie, a bunch of bluegil, 3 perch, and 4 Northern on tip ups. All in all it was a good trip, but didn't come home with anything. Have to try again in a month or so.

Sorry to hear of the bad fishing.
Next time try Cedar Lake, just north of Crystal and east of Kiel.
Also might want to try the big lake, Winnebago. If you do go on off the east shore.
