After reading your journal I noticed your mention of a couple records being broke. I suppose the 2010 Ice Out dates are also records in the U.P as well huh? How far back are such records recorded? Just curious. Thanks!

I really do not keep track of any records for ice out and do not know how far back they go. It is sort of an unofficial thing and not recorded by the NWS or anything, but I would imagine that this year was very early, if not a record for many lakes up here.

well I can give you some Cliff Clavin Ice out facts about lake minnetonka verry large MN metro lk.earliest mar 11 1878 latest may 8 1856 average April 15 this yr April 2.oh minnetonka records go back 132yrs
