Ideas on how to carry gas on Fusion

We're thinking about a trip to Ontario in a couple weeks, partly because of snow conditions everywhere else. Also this year's gas prices help. With gas stations being far between in many areas up there, I was thinking about how to carry gas on a Fusion. Anyone tried this? It doesn't have the newer tunnel where there's an obvious place to strap a can to. The other two sleds I ride with are better set up for that, but I'd prefer to carry my own also. I have a small 2 gallon tank for my mower that might work. I'm not sure how I could keep it in place on the seat hump. It might work somehow behind the seat but then it would block the taillight. I'd probably dump it in the tank after 25 or 30 miles so that it's not sitting up there all day.

it's a Fusion you said right, I'd probably pour the 2 gallons all over the sled and burn her up to a char! Just zinging ya a tad bud!

Seriously, is there room to relocate the tail light to gain room behind the seat? If so it's simple and easy to do.

Well it is a Fusion 600, so not as bad as that big block nightmare they made, but I've thought about smoking a cigar around it with the gas cap off....

The tail light is sort of integrated into the seat, but I might be able to mount a different light on a gas can. One of the guys I ride with has a rack - maybe I should talk him into carrying a bigger can.

My old mtn max had the light mounted on the back of the seat and it was a big heavy storage seat so I cut the entire back off and had it sewn up professionally. Seat looked good, than I found a rx1 tail light extended the tail light wire and it looked darn nice. No one ever even asked as it was a clean look. Now I had lots of room for a bag and gas can.

There is no place to mount a tank on a fusion unless you add a tunnel extension, tracks USA makes them, I did it (streached to 136) and could carry fuel, if your not streached.... good luck.

How about a backpack with some of Grandmas hot water bottles full. They will compress flat will not leak and when empty weigh nothing and maybe cheap enough that you could toss them you are done.

If they are not gas proof a backpack full of leaking gas could make for a burnt crusty snowmobilier.
NOT Good testing required
