Illinois Tollways/Driving from Chicago

From DezPlanes i'd go 41N all the way north to 45 in Oshkosh then 10 to 51 for the western Yopper or just stay on 41 for east Yopper...

That's a route I always pondered if 10 bypasses all the towns and remains 55mph. It looks like a no-brainer thing to do would be make that a four lane highway.

You can have Route 12. I don't need to stop at every light in front of every shopping center. They ruined that route.

A lot of times I pick up my friend and boat in Elgin so 90 is the fastest way from there, unfortunately.

I usually don't pay attention to what tolls are charged on my IPASS, but the last two Sundays it refilled twice at $40 Dollars, July 1st I must of been near the Minimum threshold and yesterday it happened again as I went to the Union Grove Drag Strip.

Waukegan Toll plaza with a 2 axle car trailer was 6.95 and Lake Cook was 4.65. So 4 @ 6.95 and 4 @ 4.65. Guess I wil l take Route 45 all the way next time and enjoy the Slow Ride up their.

Cost me almost the same in tolls as it did in Gas to tow my car to the track each time

Okay now we have another thread concerning the tolllway ripoff I have been not aware of. Seems it's been dormant for a while. Lets get it out of hibernation see where it goes. Hopefully it educates us all. DON'T LET THE TOLLWAY RIP YOU OFF !!!

just a thought .I have been debating putting in a remote controlled plate so when i go thru the toll booth hit a switch and my real plate rotates showing a plate with a middle finger on it like to see the guys face when they pull the photo .Had the biggest smile on my face when i purchased a car from a private seller in IL .He took off the plate so i blew thru every Toll booth never got that letter from IL.
