I'm looking for some honest opinions on the new polaris chasis and the new 800 motor. Can you plese help? I'm thinking of getting one for next season.

Thank you,

Agreed
Sometimes I wonder how honest people can be after spending 10k on a toy used 4 months a year
I am really interested in one maybe before next season so I will be watching

People can be honest if they compare to what they did ride and there will always be some bias to it. Like you said nobody likes to say they don't like it after spending that kind of money.

I'm interested in hearing comments too. Anybody up over 3 or 4,000 miles on 800 yet?

I have 1500 miles on mine, but it's a 600. I just love the sled. It rides so nice and has absolutely no ski lift. The new rear skid eats the bumps up so much better than my 2012. The IDD gauge with built in GPS is awesome to be able to get from the factory and the LED headlight at night is a huge difference. My only issue is I have a little darting on a hard pack trail with just a few sleds down it. If I'm first down the hard pack trail, I'm fine, and once several sleds have been down and the top of the trail loosens up, the darting also goes away, so it's a very narrow window. I only have the standard 4" factory carbides on right now so I'm looking at upgrading there.

All I can suggest is try to ride one. If you can't, you won't be disappointed. I couldn't be happier and it gets better every mile. Everything I hear about the new 800 is it's a monster from 0-80 and corner to corner. It's still early, but not hearing any reliability issues either with some sleds with over 2500 miles on them.

Regarding darting issue, check out Scott Bergstrom's website & video -www.bergstromskegs.com

Watch the video & take his advice on shimming the skis and you'll ride down the trail happily ever after...................

I think I will give them a try and will be sure to do the shimming per the videos. I think 6" should be good. Do you think I can get a pair within a week or so? I've heard it can be hard to reach them. Thanks!

Mark, I think he has added an extra phone line and also has help answering the phones. I called to order some a couple weeks ago, got Scott himself on the phone and had my carbides less than a week later.

Scott is pretty much a 1 man show

in a busy season it could take a while, but now near end of season??

Just call him, GREAT person to deal with

TRIPLE points are the way to go, he'll include the shims free

Ok, the first 2 times I called it was busy, but the 3rd time was the charm and they are shipping tomorrow and I will have them Wednesday. I talked with Joanne and she asked all the right questions and seemed to know her stuff.

They also provide free shims for all of the sleds you own. I've always noticed my skags were out in the front much more.

My son's friend has a new 800 AXYS and loves it. I rode it for a few miles and have decided to get the 600 AXYS next year. I don't need all the horsepower anymore. Tired of my 08 Apex LTX.

Don't forget to check toe-in/toe out which is often overlooked

1/8" toe OUT is preferred

any amount of toe -in will cause erratic handling (2" toe out, better than 1/4" toe- in as an example)
