Improve Rear Suspension Of 2012 Apex XTX?

Ok I'm ready to spend some money on my Apex XTX rear suspension. My sled is nearing 10K miles so I want to do something with all my shocks.We ride faster than most on all types of groomed trails & unplowed bombed out FRs. FRs are part of our routine to get to groomed trails so can't avoid ruff rides with big bumps. The CK 144 suspension roots were in the Nytro & is engineered to pound trails which it does do well. The drawback is extreme kick caused by fast rebound but no way to slow it down with a rebound clicker. Lots of XTX riders have installed the Star Suspension in their XTXs but it uncouples the standard CK which I don't want to do. Riders that installed the Star love it or hate it..... a risky investment & I'm not going that way.

So what should I do with OEM shocks & springs to get rid of extreme kick in stutters?

I choose not to read the specifics of your post but does FAST make a skid in the length you need? (144"?) I know they offer a 136" option and honest to God, if you want a better ride and they don't offer a 144", put a FAST 136" skid in your sled if you can.

Just thinking outside the box.....

Well WD, I thought you already were working with "HyGear" on this problem????? "Fast" makes a excellent suspension. Perhaps try a "EasyRide" trail (long arm) suspension through Chad at M&M????????????

Buy a second shock of the same shock that's in there. Play with different valving stacks until you find the one that suits your needs. Reason I say to buy a 2nd shock is so that you won't lose riding time waiting for your ONE and only shock to get revalved.

Lots cheaper than buying a new skid. Barnofparts.com is a potential source for the 2nd shock.

That's a great way to go groomerdriver for more than one reason. But I thought he was already workingg with "HyGear' on the shocks???????????

Thought about Easy ride & Fast but that's a radical change & want to stay with 144 ice ripper track mod the shocks & springs for sure. Maybe Hygear they did good job on venturenorth's Apex SE air shocks recently. Looking for options at this point then do it in May. Pat's can do standard Yamaha shock rebuild not beyond that with new progressive springs.....just not sure yet. I'm sure I'm not the first that wants to improve CK kick so looking to find out what others tried?

Seems like there's several places that have "the valving setup" for trail riding. HyGear is a top rated place for sure but by the sounds of it over on TY, there's several others that one could try. I was going to try somebody, but I'm selling my sled.
