Info on Michigan trail permits

I haven't bought permits for 2 of my 3 sleds and 2 of the 3 haven't/won't touch the precious trails, so in my eyes it works out perfectly. Why spend 45 bucks on grooming and signing that my sled never sees. IF I planned on riding the groomed trails then I would pony up for a permit.

I just don't like that people are forced to buy a permit to ride when they aren't using the groomed trails (IE off-trail, lake riding, riding in neighbors field, etc).

As far as paying where I play, I live here so I pay plenty for where I play.

Bus is leaving for Canada on Thursday night. The 16th. Permit is $100 for 3 days. Got 8 guys going. Off trail mostly. Email for more info.

Would like too but I'm taking the family to Vilas that weekend. Schools out Friday and Monday so it is a very rear four day weekend. First year for my son to drive a sled! I don't want to miss the family time on the snow. I'm sure you would be the same way. Anything next year?

What's funny about this site is that people don't complain about the cost of the permit BUT complain about the throttle jockies with riding around their loud cans.

When you have a $45 permit, you are going to attract more of the young crowd vs. families with multiple sleds.

Keep raising the prices and you will keep attracking this kind of crowd. Number of permits will continue to go down and prices will raise. (bad economics if you ask me)
