Hi
Looking at buying a 2004 700 ProX2 Polaris, has just over 1000 miles on it. What price would you suggest expected? I am in canada so if you have the time in CDN dollars please :D thanks. Also, what were the issues with this sled, if any? Common problems? The sled also seems to be in great shape always stored inside in a heated garage!

Thanks

Well there's one posted on this site by Mallard. Its an 800, 2700 miles and a bunch of extras.
He is asking $4,400 USA. That seems to be about the going price but I have seen them cheaper. Do a search on the internet to get an idea of the used price value in your area and others. Good luck.

the 700 blue books for $3800 U.S. dollars. And from a site I found, $3800 U.S. dollars coverts to 3985 so basically $4000. That specific sled is very hard to find in my opinion. So i'd set your limit at $4200 canadian dollars max.

2004 Prox2 was one of the best sleds Polaris ever produced IMO. Excellent handling and riding sled. 700 motor more reliable then the 800. There were not many of these sleds manufactured, if it is in good shape go for it, the only issue would be the shocks, may need to be serviced, due more to years then mileage. Would not hurt to check compression as well? Had one for 3 years and sold to my son in law, still going strong. He has had multiple offers to sell, but so far has refused them. No newer Polaris sled, up until possibly, the Rush compares.

ProX2 is awesome...

I had one for three years (until sadly last year a tree ended its life) It was stretched to 144"x2". I did mostly boondocking with it, but could keep up or pull away from most on the trails also. The thing was one of the sweetest looking and best aggressive style riding sleds you will ever probably ride. I also had an SLP single, V3 reeds, and an ATTAC. Had two issues during the life of the sled (4000+ miles.) Had broken motor mounts while I was riding out west (which I had 2 trips out with), and just last year before hitting the tree I had a power valve let go and took out the PTO side piston. It was about due for a rebuild anyway!! I would now recommend replacing powervalves on those 700 or 800's every 1500 miles. (the 800's were known for this problem) Never had a problem with the shocks, I did have them rebuilt once, and it did improve the ride. It won't win you any WFO pulls across lakes compared to other 700's, but it is no slouch either. For ditchbanging or rougher trail riding this thing excels. Right around $4000 would probably be a fair price seeing it only has around 1,000 miles. No doubt in my mind I miss this sled!
