Insurance question

guys, why in a million years would u put 1000 deduct on a sled that most likely will get wrecked in one way or another eventually..250 max

Good question, I've found it not to cost that much more for a lower deductible.

We all hope to never wreck, but there always is that possibility. I'm more concerned with "the other guy" wrecking me and/or my sled and not having insurance.

I tried to put a $1,000 deductible on my sled. Company said no go. Too high.

But, I still have a pretty good rate on the insurance combined with the rest of the other things like the house and autos. Price has been in the just over $160 range for quite some time for the sled.
I do run seasonal coverage on the sled for the riding season. The off season is covered on the main policy. I also run blanket plans on all the toys and house for liability.

Make sure you have a high enough coverage. I have seen some nightmares with people that did not have enough coverage.

Any recommendations on places for insurance?

Bought a 2013 F800 RR and was surprised with quote...

Progressive $634
Formost $529

Thought I might get hammered on the 850 but lucked out.

Is that high? Seems to me. I'm a 36 year old male with no claims and/ or tickets on my driving record. I had a 2008 F6 SnowPro and it was $157 for the year.

Just looking for a little feedback. Thanks for any info fellas.

50 year old with 800+ credit in WI;
-Last year 2016 600 Renegade $189 annual.
-This year, 2017 850 Renegade $215 annual.
Both were from Liberty Mutual, Husband and wife riders only.
Add-on to 900 Ranger that was $320 annually.
Allows for comprehensive only in summer.
$500 deductible with 100/300 coverages like my car with only 5k in med payments.

Any company that charges ridiculous premiums obviously doesn't want ti insure sleds. Go elsewhere. I have Country Ins on everything I own.

I use Andy with met life too $114.00 $250 deductible 14 renegade 600 great service too we have several of us use him

Good to hear. My son has his sleds insured with him also. Although we never had a claim, he is quick and very easy to deal with.
