Interesting Info from the Wisconsin DNR

It is very interesting. I didn't get a chance to look through it all, but I wish there was a stat about how many days trails were open. We could call it county/days, and for every day a county was open would be 1 day. So if all counties were open for 1 day, it would be 72. This could put in perspective how much riding would of been done on certain years. It would also give a better idea of the impact of the speed limits.

Good suggestion.

Just happen to keep track of the opening/closing dates for Dane and Columbia Counties, and for the winter of 2012-13, here are the open dates:

Dane County: Dec. 20-Jan. 7, 19 days (same for Columbia Co.).
Feb. 4-10, 7 days (same for Columbia Co.).
Feb. 22-March 9, 16 days. (Columbia Co. was Feb. 22-March 10).
Total: Dane County 42 days, Columbia County 43 days.

This information for other counties is probably available through their respective Parks (or similar) Departments. Not sure the state keeps those records, but like you suggested, it would be another interesting set of data and would tend to put things into more perspective.

I wonder how many of these people thought they had just a couple of drinks, or a couple of drinks with dinner? A lot of them were 3 to 4 times the limit. Either a couple of drinks effect people more then they think, or they are lying to themselves but the quantity they're consuming.
