Interesting snow amount stat to consider.........

In looking at John Dee's historical snowfall amounts, the year 1957-58 saw a total of 130" of snow fall. The least yearly amount since the 50's. 1978-79 saw the most snow, over 354" for the year.

I think to date in the UP they might have 20" total?

Assuming mid March is the last of it, and assuming 2021 matches the least amount of snow, one could assume we have 110" of snow to fall over the next 2 months!:) That comes to 13.75" a week for the next 8 weeks.

Snow better start falling darn soon. December was terrible and January is thin too. Won’t be good to pound all sledders in big snow country with thin coverage. What the heck MN , WI and MI need winter temps and snow soon before solar angles do us in.

I was just using Dec 2020, that 63.3 has stuff from last season in that number. 2 days before Christmas there was 2" on the ground and then they got that 12-18 around Christmas and another 6-8 on the 29th.

Rideable groomed trails in the Arrowhead of MN.
With snow falling currently.
Sending the system east!

Thanks, but nothing left in the storm system. We lost most of what we had on the ground (about 5") yesterday and got a 1/4" of slush last night. And the predicted cool down now doesn't look all that cool. :frown:
