Iron River, WI - Trail Conditions - 01/04/2019

Hello,

Me and 5 guys are sick of sitting around looking at dirt in SE MN and are headed up to Iron River, WI just for the weekend for something to do. I see the forecast temps for tomorrow are 40 degrees plus (GRRR), but my main question is, are the trails half way decent around Iron River currently? Bad Spots? Bad Trails? Places to avoid? I am not expecting much with the warm up, but a bad day of snowmobiling is better than a good day at work. Please give any input.

I rode yesterday from Iron River to Cable, it was fine, less in the Cable area. Loggers have plowed a section of trail 15 south of Grandview, its rideable but I'd avoid it . More snow north of Iron River,. More snow for Sunday and Monday.

5-10" predicted through today for the area. Trails north and east of IR (Valhalla & Bayfield) have been excellent with a deep and solid base and lots of snow on the forest roads. 30-40" snow depth. Might take a ride Thursday and do a report.
