Is Mohawk always dark and goomy?

hi John,
the Mohawk cam always looks like they are about to get pounded by heavy storm. Is that just the camera or is it cloudy and dark almost every day in Mohawk?

We do have a lot of clouds in the winter, basically lake effect. However, that cam does tend to make it look darker than it really is.

You can probably take the average of the Calumet and Houghton/Hancock cams for the actual brightness.

Today it has been snowing pretty good all morning.
