Rode 345 miles with family and friends in the L'Anse - Paulding - Bergland - Silver City -Ontonagon - Greenland area Friday & Saturday. Rode the west side of that area yesterday, and upon getting off the trails at 3:30 on a Saturday in 45 degree sun, the "side trails" were still very good to mostly excellent. I took my friend's snowmobile for a test ride on trail 3 to wrap up the afternoon and that was fairly rough, but not suprising in the least.

Sun and 45 degrees again today. :(

The road trails north of the bridge were toast. 17 was really rough until about Calumet and then 3 was good all the way up to Copper Harbor. Going to try south of the bridge tomorrow but don't have high hopes after talking to another group of riders who said it was rough and they ended early today. Have a feeling we may be cutting this trip a day to day and a half short.

Rode 450 miles in 2.5 days in Northern Minnesota. A little slushy and bare in just a few spots. Otherwise it was great.

I'm sure trail 3 is trashed, but if you can survive it down to Greenland the trails were fantastic from there to the west yesterday. The club that grooms west of Greenland (North County Snowmobile Club) updated that they got all 109 miles of their trail system groomed last night and given the dedication I've observed from them I'm sure they'll be out again tonight.

I suppose i should have been more specific. How about any trails in Bruce Crossing, Watersmeet, Sidnaw, Iron River MI, L'Anse, Florence, Gwinn, etc...east of most of the reports. Thank you for the comments however. Even though I don't usually ride those areas knowing they are holding up does help.

I rode a few miles on trail 13 on the twin lakes end yesterday around 2pm and it was literally perfection. I also rode a few miles down trail 3 thru twin lakes plenty of snow but was whooped out from the warm temps. I would also like to hear how the rest of the trails held up and specifically what trails/areas north of houghton are good/bad as me and my girlfriend were thinking of going up there this coming weekend

Cut my trip short, but 17 north out of Hancock is shot. The hill outside of MM was down to bare concrete on Sunday and I'm sure Monday's weather didn't help. Puddles/bare spots all over the rest of 17 heading north. Once outside of Hancock, 17 was whooped up pretty bad. It didn't get good until a little south of the Calumet area. From there north all the way to Copper Harbor was good.

Thanks for the report. We’re staying in Hancock, I think I’m going to trailer to the Vansville bar to ride that way I can hit eagle harbor and copper harbor/brockway all in 1 easy loop for her since she’s never been up there, and also avoid riding out of Hancock and thru calumet.

Trails in our area, Bruce Crossing, Sidnaw, Paulding, Watersmeet held up pretty good, Trail 3 in between Watersmeet and Bruce does have some thin and icy areas now and any road sections are mostly ice now, Bear will be out in the groomer tonight on Trail 8 heading west from Trout Creek to Ewen and north on Trail 3 to Rockland so I'll no more about that section tomorrow

Rode 5, 32 and 8 Sunday. Gwinn, Republic area. Trails were great in the woods. Parking lots, road crossings, and towns were bare. I suspect Big Bay was the same.

Per The Chippewa Sno-Kats Trail Club, Inc. : Due to unfortunate circumstances a segment of Snowmobile Trail 16 located on private land is closed in Dickinson County. There is no through snowmobile traffic on Trail 16 between Crystal Falls and Trail 5 near Sagola at this time. Disrespectful snowmobilers, excessive speed and riders not stopping at stop signs resulted in the landowner revoking permission for the trail located on private property. Riders will need to seek alternative routes for east-west travel between Dickinson and Iron Counties as DNR staff and the snowmobile club research potential reroutes.

Big thank you to those who forget riding snowmobile trails is a privilege not a right.
