Just wondering if this is a good deal or not.

Looking at buying a 2006 M7 153" EFI with 996 miles on it. The sled is in overall good shape. $4000. What you think... I think it sounds and looks good.

Do you feel that the miles are legit? 996 miles on a 6 year old sled sounds a bit slim. If you look at it in person and have no doubts then it is definitely a good deal. I'm not sure what 2007 M8s are selling for but they do have reverse which can be nice.

Well its hard to really guarantee the milage, but, it is a 1 owner sled, bought new as a holdever in late 07, guy said he basically only rode it 1 or 2 times a yr out west..... and now is getting a turbo sled, plus the track shows little wear if any. I was thinking even if the milage is off even if it were 3500 miles it still sounds good. As far as reverse.....well I havent had it yet....so I guess I wouldnt be missing anything! But it would be nice.

buy it it is a good deal in today's market .and if it is a m7 it has no reverse.that 700 IMHO is one of cats best power plants.
if you are going to do the Holt's relocation bracket you will prob have to go used think they quit making few yrs back

If your happy its a good deal. If you had pictures or a link it might help. A good deal is a state of mind like we use to say in the car business.

I think it will be a good deal. I have been wanting a longer track sled for the last few yrs now, and I have really wanted to get a 700. This is both of those wants, so. Since my last sled had 10K on it (95xlt triple) this sled should be good for a few yrs I would think. And maybe now I can finally take that trip out west I have been wanting to do!!!

If (when) I get it I will post some pics.

Thanks to everyone for all the info. I did buy the sled. Overall I think it was a good buy. $4k for a sled with 996 miles is was a good deal to me. It does need a cleaning though, so thats what I am doing at the moment. Going to change out the DD oil, and clean the engine bay. Everything else on the sled is in good shape, aside from the hood (has a crack) but I knew that going into the deal. I will just do a zip-tie repair and call it good, only cosmetic anyways.

Cant wait to get out riding!

Anything

mmmmm

Well you bought the sled...Cool !...I would go thru it as you are....Things that flagged me as others have pointed out above. 5 years under 1000 miles, rode out west and now wants to buy a Turbo?...Why buy if you ride so little ?....Do people buy sleds to only ride 2 times in 4 or 5 years? Just sounds fishy..anyways sounds like a great deal..

Have fun be safe...

I know, at first I thought it was a little fishy too. But after going over the sled now, everything I was told has been spot on, so I guess in my eyes the guy was telling the truth. Like I said the sled is a little dirty but I am cleaning it up and it is looking good. I pulled the Secondary clutch of and the splines on the DD look brand new... no rust or dirt... not even a scratch lol. ONLY problem I have now is all the things I want to buy and do to the sled....LOL Time and money..... But I am happy. Should be a blast!
