Has Cat had any issues with its new 6? I haven't heard of many but maybe there aren't many yet with miles on them, plus there seem to be more 800's out there

I've heard nothing but good things also. Can't say I've seen too many on the trail though.

No personal experience here, but I've talked to Chad at M&M a couple times and he says they are great, but around here they aren't moving because people just have a mentality that the 600 isn't enough sled. We had a guy rent one for a day on our trip in Feb when his f7 went down. He thought it was great, pulled real well and was smooth through the entire range. It would take an act of God for him to buy something that new, but he's actually thinking about picking one up.

I have one I bought this past fall. I really like it, no problems with the motor whatsoever. only issue I had was clogged fuel pickups in the tank. definitely would recommend this engine to anyone!

We rented 4 of the XF6000 LXR's this winter and I can honestly tell you that not only did we never have to pick one up off the trail, we didn't have ONE SINGLE call from a rental customer all winter with a 600 even acting up. Fuel mileage has been good and oil consumption is great. Had customers get as hi as 250 miles to a quart of oil. YES I know the Ctec doesn't come in a quart bottle. Using "quart" as a familiar/equal comparison. All in all, I'm VERY happy with the new 600 Ctec motor.

Thanks for the info - how many miles did your 600 rentals end up with?

What fuel mileage do you consider as being 'good'?

I snowchecked one in spring of 13 and have had 2850 miles of trouble free riding. Thinking of trading for another one, maybe the 137 inch limited this time. The mileage is a little less than I hoped for. 15 ish if you are very easy on the throttle, like under 50 and don't romp on it at all. Other wise normal trail romping 12 ish for me. Oil consumption is very good, think I mathed it out to around 500 miles on a fill.

all four of our XF's are around the 5,000 mile mark. I haven't gone out and checked mileage myself but most customers commented on how good they were on gas/oil. Usually mid teens.

Sonsaditches, good rebates on remaining 2015's and we just happen to have a XF 6000 Sno Pro ltd. in orange left ;)

Do you run only the new cat bagged oil in the rentals or do people just top it off with whatever they find? We used to rent cats every winter from everts up there but they didn't always get top of the line oil!

If I could swing it right now I like that orange 600 137. Never owned a cat before but there is a 14 zr800 in our group that I like a lot. I cant see myself in green but I could handle orange

We only use the Ctec bagged oil although I'm sure a few customers have put other in them. We urge our customers to buy the Ctec oil from us as it's usually cheaper than what they will find out on the trail and with the oil consumption they have, there is no reason to carry oil during the day.

Hoosier, we're selling our 4 rental sleds, all around 5k miles, in great shape and have remainder of a 3 year Cat Care extended warranty on them. 4 to choose from right now. $7,500 each.
