Today highs in teens. After that ten day forecast 30s every day for highs. 20s for night time lows. This is 15 to 20 degrees above seasonal averages for here. Ground just slightly frozen. I can still grade my gravel driveway. The 30s are supposed to come with full sun. There is hardly any freezing going on for the area lakes and what little there is will go away with 30s and sun. And most of the rest of you guys live SOUTH of me. Stupid El Nino.

Yep, it looks like El Nino is playing out as predicted. :(

Looked at the 10 day Intellicast forecast for the northern camp - low to mid 30's through the 5th of December. Think a lot of the lake will still not be safe for vehicles by New Years. Maybe if I got rid of the sleds....

The big lake needs sub zero temps for a week to get started freezing. Water temp 1 foot under surface was 38 last week when I was up there! It is going to be late. Resorts were supposed to open the first of Dec for ice fishing. Not going to happen. Back here the sugar beet storage piles are getting hotspots. This is a bad thing. They rely on the cold temps to freeze and preserve the beets.

Maybe if I got rid of the sleds....

Starting to ponder, get rid of sleds and start ski-ing again. At least they can make snow.

The flakes are getting bigger, too bad it won't stay.

No I could never get rid of the sleds, i get this stinkin thinkin when we have low snow, and late start to winters.
I would more likely move somewhere with more snow than sell the snow machines.

After many years of chasing early snow we have had some really epic trips and some not so much. The last 3 years we have gotten back in to skiing. We fly tonight to go skiing at Breckenridge. RT non-stop $128 Frontier. Huge discounts on lodging and better prices on lift tickets. Middle of December we go to Cozumel and scuba dive. Once again taking advantage of discount lodging and airfare before the holiday travel weeks. Now we don't worry about snow or trips until New Year's. And then ride as much as we can Jan/Feb. Not to mention the recreational dispensary has really helped keep the blood pressure under control. LOL

49 degrees (F) in Green bay, any frost is toast. Heck, I am still waiting to put winterizer on the grass.
My brother is still doing major concrete jobs without heat.
