It starts again

Many years ago we use to love posting all of our Off Trail riding. As it started to get popular and people started to ride anywhere they wanted to we all stopped posting. With todays information it is easier to know where you can and can't go than ever before! When we started we would go to the bank in Ontonagon and purchase a platbook and keep it with us in our backpacks.

Being such a repetitive issue I am wondering what is directing them that direction. Something needs to get done by the city, county or club to help identify and fix the issue! Are you in Ontonagon by chance? I remember a similar post a couple years back.

Yep in my experience peeps don’t want to hear anything about letting you pass, trespassing or really anything about where and how they ride. I gave up on that years and years ago. Some even get pissed off they are angry before you approach them. Forget it I’m out to have a good time not police other riders that don’t want to hear it. Too upsetting not worth it. Buds told me don’t do it they are idiots , might be drunk , crazy, who knows hard headed me had to try found out for myself a waste of time and emotion.
Yeah, well, or perhaps in today's world get yourself shot by some ignorant arrogant gun happy idiot?

Can we have the general area so we can check out what's happening?? Did you contact the town or snowmobile club for assistance in this matter?? Can't be coincidence this keeps happening to you.

Right. It is hard to tell what is going on here. Something seems off, it must be a super attractive nuisance to cut across this property. Barricade, fence, ditch, MANURE. Put it in for 10+ weeks and then take it out. If I were half as pi$$ed as thebluff money would not be an issue.

sorry , more than likely local people making tracks then everyone follows
The biggest culprits of trespassing is so often locals or semi locals. They often have the mentality of they live up there so they can get away with it. Yet always blamed on out of towners.

In my mind it really doesn't matter who, or where they are from, trespassing is trespassing, period! That's how the law sees it. Bad part of this whole thing, issue here is it's snowmobilers doing it. And that dumps on all of us snowmobilers wherever.

My opinion is that Thebluff absolutely has a complain because has done it for years and he shouldn’t have this issue. My question is what is bringing these people in his direction? Next step is who’s responsible to fix it? If he is no where near a trail why are people there in the first place, if close to a trail and people get lost it’s on club to help fix the problem. If he own a large property that looks inviting to off trail riding that is a law enforcement issue. But inevitably it is the trespassers fault. As for trespassing in fields it’s been happening since the invention of the snowmobile so it’s not a new thing. I do remember him talking about putting barriers across his driveway and still have people go around in other posts so really want to know what is the draw to go there and seams like a local thing. Last thing I will say is without the obvious of people staying out, Bluff what do you think is the next best way to stop it? Would temp fencing work, because that is probably something the local club might help with and if not reach out to dnr or other clubs.

His rant does not really provide information as to the details of the situation. I looked back at his past posts and there were 1 or 2 that were interesting. Most were about his lodging properties. No way to know how to solve his issues.

Sorry to hear this, would love for the local enforcement to catch and severly fine those individuals. Make the fines so high that people have to take it seriously. Maybe some community service with it also.

Go to Goodwill and buy some used bedding sheets. Place them under the snow so they won't be able to see them and they will get caught in their tracks when they run over them. This works! No serious damage...just a major annoyance.

Let me know if your results are as good as mine!
