Well....depends....have you ever removed the seal and repacked it.....does it have a zerk....or has it never been touched? A bearing that is greased annually should easily go 10,000 miles or more. If it's never been lubed it could be very near (or past) end of service life.

you should at Minn get a needle grease fitting at give it a shot every yr.but at least it is a ez bearing to replace

Replace it before the start of the season, it's cheap insurance.

The 2008's had NO grease fitting on the jackshaft. 7000 miles and no grease...........................................

I would change it. I put over 11,000 miles on my FST Classic and I replaced mine right in that area after they had failed. Ruined a trip to the UP. Don't wait for the failure, it's a matter of time now.

Adding a grease fitting now won't do much as most of the wear is done. They fail even when greased correctly, trust me. Polaris has made that bearing a sealed bearing and say they don't need greasing, but I'm no mechanic or expert, trust me on that too!

don't forget the most important thing about that bearing the word CHINA stamped on to the rubber seal.

5000 miles

Best to replace the 4 bearings approx every 5000 miles. As others said it is cheap insurance. You can do the work yourself too...not to difficult to do.

If you have never greased it I would probably replace it, but if you greased it regularly and has no noise I would leave it alone.
