Fox Sports is reporting the Twins inked Mauer to a 10 year contract. As a Twins fan and Yankee hater I couldn't get better news!

I think the Twins actually might have a legit shot at the World Series this year, if they can stay healthy.

i've been waiting on official word. Heard about it this morning also.

From what i understand, most of the leg work is done and all the legaleese needs to be pinned down. but it is great news and i hope to hear good news this week!

Pitching will be their crutch again. Too bad the game is dominated by pitchers because there just are not enough good pitchers around.

"Mauer's new deal is a matter of when, not if" - according to Twins.com I guess it's not official yet but sounds like the deal is close!

if they stay healthy I'm not worried about pitching at all. Liarano had great winter ball, slowey, baker, pavano, blackburn, duensing, they will pitch fine, as long as we're not playing the yankees. I won't be surprised if they get Jarod Washburn too, he wants to pitch here, Twins are just holding out to sign him as cheap as possible.
