I just saw Tom Skilling's WGN forecast here in Chicago. He mentioned John Dee and showed a photo to illustrate how much snow the UP has received in the past few weeks. The pic looked like JD's driveway, with some pretty tall piles of snow on both sides. Pretty cool.

Should've said "the other meteorologist thats more accurate than i am" LOL I will be honest, all week I kept saying to myself John will be wrong we will get snow in the Appleton area, he will be wrong and what do you know we end up with an inch of snow and an inch of rain :(

Yep, that was our driveway. I thought I would send it to him and tell him about all the snow we have picked up lately.

Skilling is all good. He is one of the better meteoroligists in my opinoin. Its funny when he goes off track and rambles.

John:

I met Tammy Souza at a trade show ( she was the guest speaker) and I told her about your web site. She didn't know anything about it but would look it up. She mentioned that she did know you quite well. BTW....a very nice lady!

Some of my friends call me a "closet weather geek" (I prefer closet meteorologist). I like how Skilling goes into the science of weather. They need to give him more time, and less time to sports!

In Chicago, that should be no problem- especially during the NFL season!! Had to give you a little nudge form a Packers fan!! Neat thread.

I enjoy watching Tom do the weather, he has a genuine love for it, and it shows. I also feel that he is one of the few that enjoys snow, when most weather man that I have seen in the midwest, consider snow storms as evil.

The most recent is not the first time he has mentioned Mr.Dee. There have been references to the northwoods and reports several times on Skillings forecast.

Yes same here i have heard Tom mention John a few times before. I thought that driveway pic looked familar..lol. Tom said John said 36 inches in the past 10 days...the same as Chicago's yearly snowfall average.....And i will give a "like" for Bonak on tv 6.

John,

How does Carl Bonak do for weather in da UP? IYO?

Hi Lenny.

In my opinion, Karl does a great job. TV6 is very fortunate to have someone with his talents. He could easily be in a much bigger market, making much bigger bucks, but his love of the UP keeps him here.

No kiddin sledboy. Unfortuneately the Blackhawks are kinda going down that road too! My oldest son and I have been watching the Packers for about the last 7 years over the Bears. So I might be a closet Packers fan also! Maybe that's why I stick to NHRA drag racing and NASCAR.
