Any one doing any thing for clubs etc for parades? Show off your floats or ones you found interesting.

Alger Sorva www.algersorva.com (The Munising area Snowmobile and ORV club) is going to be representing the snowmobile world in the parade this coming Monday.

Borrowed a trailer, hooked it to my M35 Military truck, loaded up the Pisten Bully Trail Bully. It will be getting decorated this weekend just before the parade. Did not know that pig weighs in over 13,000lbs wet.

Hope you are all enjoying the summer! This is my favorite holiday! Will post some parade pics next week. Hope others do too!

Posting a pre decorated pic.

haha that would be cool..... literally. Ice rink in town here = no ice in summer.

We are getting white sheets to cover the trailer along the sides and front rear of groomer.
Should look pretty good. I am personally trying to stay out of the decorating aspect of this mission.
I did my part. The thing is now parked down town at the Pictured Rocks Hotel.
This is where it will be till the parade Monday.
Now enjoying some absolutely perfect weather drinking some beers.
Hope yall down South are enjoying the heat. ;)

Here is what Trenary Northern Trails did for the parade in Trenary. We made a ramp to the top of the gooseneck and strapped a new SKS down. On the beaver tail is a AC Cross Country.

We we won first place for the clubs and organization.

Check out some pictures and even a home movie of a 1950s vintage "Fort o' Chuly" celebration in Eagle River, MI from two threads on Pasty.com[SUP](1)[/SUP], demonstrating some genuine, classic Independence Day celebrations in small town America:

"If these scenes aren't what America is all about, i don't know what is! …"

Oboy, isn't that the truth! Especially in small town America.
What's six people and a national holiday? In nearly any small town in the UP, that's makings for a parade, as in "'50's July 4th in Eagle River"! Love it!

"Folks riding on the fenders of the car! They're all going to die!"
And that little girl leaning on the windshield. "Oh horrors, call Children's Protective Services"!

Well golly gee, we all survived, without Big Brother butting in! Imagine that!

As Archie and Edith would say: (click →) "Those were the Days!".
(Ouch! My ears, my ears!)

[Good to see that patriotic spirit is spirit is still alive today, as seen in John's latest (July 3, 2016) journal, and hopefully many more items to come in this thread. :)]

What a weekend. There was a good turn out for the parade. We took some 2nd place judges fan favorite. (we are all winners) blah
After the parade spent the day in town. A lot of it at Shooters.... Some might say too much. Fireworks were top not notch as always in Munising Bay. The little kids all were mesmerized by the army tuck / groomer combo. Funny to see their faces while asking their parents "what is that?!!?"
Hope you all had a terrific holiday.

Still lots of work in progress out on the trails and getting our groomer building up. Seems winter is just around the corner. Enjoy the rest of the summer.

Posting some pictures.
