Kid helmet recommendation

Anyone have experience with kids helmets? I'll be taking my almost 4 year old on some light rides. His head measures 20 inches. Thoughts, positive or negative experiences?

I've always used HJC helmets for the kids. Seem like good helmets, but then again I don't ask them if they like it after I bought it. lol

My 4 year old is wearing an HJC, he loves it. I got it at the snow show last year for about $100 with a snow shield and a single pane road shield.

Thanks for the follow up. I ended up buying a Scott helmet w goggles. More of a ski helmet. He's not going to be out in severe weather yet. The helmet could also cross over to skiing or something else also. Will see how it works.

Jasono,

We used a snow ski helmet when my son was 2 and 3, worked well on trips around home or on the ATV up North and with a mask he stayed plenty warm in the winter. The nice thing is they are so light it isn't hard on their neck. We went to the more traditional helmet when he started riding the snowmobile trails with me, I felt the need for more protection given I was now worried about the other people out there.

Enjoy

Always used full face helmets to help keep them warm & the snow out of their faces if they were getting pulled on a sled
