Kimpex Shotgun track - anyone heard of this?

I found a used Kimpex Shotgun track for sale near me on Craigslist. Guy who bought it selling his sleds and he has an extra track for sale with it (came with the sled when he bought it used). He doesn't seem like he knows anything about the track. He will sell the track for next to nothing. Looks like it has studs in it. I haven't gone over to see it yet, but from looking on the internet, it looks like it's a 121 inch track with 1.25 lugs and it's pre-drilled for studs. I'm wondering a few things about it:

Can you remove studs from a track and use it like that? I don't think I am interested in riding with studs.

The tread pattern looks similar to a ripsaw. Anyone tried this Shot gun? I haven't heard anything about this track before, so I assume it's something OEM.

Anyway to easily measure a track? If I buy it, I would want to make sure it is a 121 and not a different size like a 120, etc.

HOLY CRAP! Dont buy that! Obama will make you register it and in a couple years take it from you.

But it will be OK because "It's for the children"

Just my $.02

;)

Ok, you guys are funny. If I buy the track, I'll take the studs out of it to keep Obama happy. Anybody have any input on this track???

I put one on my wifes sled at the beginning of last year. I put 96 studs down the middle of it for extra traction. Unfortunately we have only rode the sled maybe 4 times because of lack of snow. Seems to be a decent track, but hard to tell you about durability when we haven't had the chance to run it enough. Just make sure whatever sled it was bought for has the same pitch (distance between lugs) as the one you are buying it for has.

I didn't think about that...I thought all 121's were the same pitch???

I just looked up the shotgun track in the kimpex book. It is 15" wide 121" long with a 2.52 x 48 pitch. They don't make another 121 shotgun so that is what it is!! Most 121's are a 2.52. How to measure pitch....The distance between the center of one drive hole, drive lug or cleat to the center of the next on the same side.

Good to know. Thanks for looking into that.
