Thanks for the tips and info Lenny! For sure the work is usually around the more populated areas. Houghton even has Union work going on when they build the college dorms. Local 6 Masons Union is in Marquette but i didnt want to move there.... I knew a guy that tried to make a living in Copper Harbor cause he built his dad a home there but returned to Il after 6 years. Unless your near Houghton, Marquette or my area hurley/Ironwood work is really scarce.(of the snow belt areas, as far as i know) Contructuion is pretty good around here. We do lots of work for local contractors...I make a little less than half my Il Union wage, OT helps out. My boss has had an add in the paper the past few for concrete laborers and finishers.............O and any truck drivers out there that want to move to the UP/Northern Wi. area there are always adds for truck drivers in the local paper.

Been thinking about pulling out the tile ceiling in our place and better insulating then replacing with drywall. Maybe I can give you more drywall work...

BTW how many real estate agents have your number in the fr of there rolodex? they are huge. I know a lot of guys don't like to deal with handyman work. but it is a huge part of my business and I try to put 1 day a week aside just for it.
U get your service call fee try to make it 2x your hourly rate.
some days I pump out 5 handy man jobs and most handy man work pays cash.
and guess who the home owner calls first any time they need a large job on the home.
heck all the guys I know who told me for yrs handy man work was a waste were all calling me for work in 08 and 09. it was the 1 side of my business that grew in those yrs and was a god sent being not many people were feeling like dropping 12 to 80k on a bathroom at that time.
BTW any one know of a good guy .poss good kid wanting and willing to learn in west metro MN looking for work give me a shout

I'm going to university of minn next year and will have to find a job, but I don't know if I would be able to balance that type of work with a school schedule.
