Everyone has their favorite brand. I personally buy what seems to be the best for my money. I currently use HMK Highmark Pro boots and really like the hardsided protection they give and have no complaints about them keeping me warm and dry in all temps. I wear Klim Klimate bibs and really like them as even in deep deep powder out west they keep me dry all day long. Even in cold temps I just wear fleece pants under the bibs and have no problems with staying warm. The only thing I will change in my clothes is that my jacket is an off brand (it says Venom on the back and I bought it new at Haydays) that is too warm. I was wearing it out west this year and the temps were mid 20's and between my fleece sweater, bibs, B-wear vest and jacket I was too warm all day. I would recommend a light waterproof shell and more layers for aggressive or western riding. That being said I haven't decided between an HMK Outlaw Jacket or Klim Tomohawk parka - its still a toss-up to be decided next fall when I buy another piece of gear for the arsenal.
