Yes, Kip is adding the SRX to his collection of custom Yamaha's. He wants me to watercross and grass drag the SRX this summer before I bring it up to his shop when I take delivery of the SW next fall. He even said that he would provide me with some set up tips from the glory days when him and Chad were racing back in the day. How cool is that!

Wow that's crazy! He's building quite a collection. Have you seen the custom Viper he traded in from one of our old friends?

Troy.....I was just kidding about racing the SRX :) I wanted to see if I could get a rise out of Kip today after he saw what I posted and wondered how long it would take before someone made a comment. LOL. I've taken really good care of that sled and have a lot of pride in it.

I did indeed trade the SRX to him as part of the SW deal and I'm really glad that someone who appreciates the sled is getting it.

I haven't seen the Viper that you mentioned but Kip has told me about the one that you mentioned from our old buddy.

Anyway.....I was just having a little bit of fun.

Ha, thought that was quite a story!!

The sled Kip bought is my avatar photo on TY over on the 2 stroke side. I took that when Mike still owned it while in Michigan. He bought it all custom'd out from a guy out east on TY. It was a 780 BB Viper with Mark's MegaPower heads, AD Boiven Expert X skid, 136 ext, Eckolm tunnel,Simons CPR pipes, C&A skis. Real cool machine. Then Mike sold it to our friend Super Dave Christoff who is no longer with us. Dave rode it a couple times and the motor went, broke a piston skirt and lunched a couple cylinders real bad. So Mike felt bad and helped Dave find a motor cheaper than rebuilding 780 motor. Here they found a cool custom engine up north in Grand Rapids or Brainerd...I believe. It started as a 700SX but had a Price Perf. conversion with Sea Doo jugs and top end to 900cc's and a set of custom built triple pipes. I think it dyno's somewhere between 190-195hp on premium pump fuel.

So they got the engine but needed to somehow get it shoe horned into the Viper chassis. The biggest issue was the electronics. The ignition was based off the SX700 and the Viper skid was obviously based off the Viper. This is where Jeff Fischer came in. Jeff did a wonderful job of getting the motor, pipes and electronics all matched up. The thing just ripped and was very reliable on the trails. Dave traded it in on a blue 2007 Attak to Kip. I believe this is Kip's personal boondocking sled today.

Wow, that's quite the journey that sled took and finally ended up in Kip's stable.

Like Paul Harvey says: "And now you know the rest of the story".
