Labor Day Weekend! What are your plans?

They call it the last Holiday Weekend of the summer.

Kind of sad to think the summer is coming to an end but I won't miss the heat, football season is here, and we're that much closer to the cool Autumn weather and eventually snow.

I have the Smoker going today with Pulled Pork and a Carolina Sauce for dinner tonight.

Sunday, we'll take the boat out for the last time on Winnebago.

Monday will be my "lay around and be lazy day" as the weather sounds iffy for our area.
Probably do some biking, take the dog for a swim, just go with the flow and enjoy the day off.

Have a safe weekend everyone and enjoy the outdoors!

Gary, don't suppose you would be willing to PM me that Carolina Sauce recipe? I'm always looking for a good one.

Normally this would be the weekend where I catch up on a lot of jobs that didn't get done over the summer but am laying low this year. Had surgery on the knee this week and I make Tim Conway's "Old Guy" character look like a sprinter. Will log a lot of couch time.

On a typical Labor Day weekend the old Webber would hardly get a chance to cool off but the meal plan will have to shift slightly this year. Most likely pan-fried Walleye, Shrimp Diablo, and maybe by Monday, a nice grilled steak.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Hmmmmm.... sounds like that diet thread has made it's way over to this one too!

Over in this neck of the woods its house projects, and "On The Waterfront" festival which has about 40 bands, 150 food vendors and all kinds of other things spread over about 20 city blocks in downtown on the river. Plan to go at least one night but will try to stay away from those high calorie food vendors :) Well maybe just one funnel cake this year!

Full cabins :) which is the best!! We went fishing yesterday on the Cisco Chain and boated to Bents Camp for dinner with Bear, Squat, Kaboo, Madison Albie and Vicki and I just have to say we are all so glad Squat is here after his accident! We'll be cooking some steaks on the grill tonight, then some evening walleye fishing on Bond, maybe a little 4-wheeling and we always finish out the day sitting around the campfire....life is good! Happy Labor Day!

PS - I think we need a smoker....yum!!

Oh Yeah! Met 2 groups of JDeers that stopped by to say hi...amazing the friends you meet from this site!! Thanks John & Nora

Got the recipe, thanks! Sent a response but my tracking shows an unconfirmed receipt so maybe there is something funny about your settings.

Another fantastic weather day here in the Grove: Warm, but with a nice breeze and NO humidity. Maybe this year has started a new Labor Day tradition of just sitting out on the deck enjoying the backyard and the occasional cold one.

We went to the Michigan Bean Festival, Fairgrove Mi. last night. Great off road bump -n- run racing. Today off to the Elkton Autumn Festival, Elkton Mi. Car show and a great breakfest. Then we hit a ton of garage sales, found some good deals. Now it's time for some steaks on the BBQ.

Yes, fall is in the air!
