Lake Ice

Unreal skim ice this morning on the lake never seen that in 15 years in October.

Would rather have that than snow. We are so wet here that it is going to take more than a few days of freezing to get us frozen up for trails. 2-3 weeks of cold and then let's do the snow dance!

Still waiting and waiting for my dock n hoist to get pulled. NE Lower lake wont freeze til late Dec so no danger yet. But chatting with a guy who does this around the lake ( next year he's my man) was scaring me with stories of a different crews overlooked docks they had to chip out ice to remove last fall.

Lake ice was getting way ahead of itself here. I think it was lots of snow in water cold nights cloudy days and skim ice was a premature result. Temps have been cold but not crazy cold of late. Upper 40s for highs make outside work tolerable without winter clothes. I’m good for now and outlook seems about normal temps a little cold but November is right around the corner then lakes will freeze up until Spring.
