Staying near L'anse this year, have either stayed in the Kee or Munising in past, mainly in the Kee so it has been years since stayed east. My wife has never seen this area yet, staying in Munising 2 of my favorite stops were pictured rocks and Big spring, does anyone know approximately how far from L'anse either of these are by trail?

Easy day ride. Pictured rocks is easy half day ride. Take her to Grand M. For pizza and gas. Going down to Big spring you could make a nice loop through the forest

That would be a overnighter in the Munising area for it to be fun and actually see somthing.
It's probably 120 mi. To Munising from there. You could make a nice circle to big bay and drop down on 5 to trail 8 and head back west some grade riding on 8 but lots of nice trails in the woods as well. Snow in Lanse can be thin. Once your a couple miles out it gets good.

Have done the Big Bay Michigamme loop many of times even when staying in Twin Lakes and Gogebic, one of my favorite loops so yes will definitely be one of the rides, Pictured Rocks doable but big spring may be too far for me. I'm kind of done with those rides you start in the early a.m. and finish in the late hours of the night (must be getting old lol) My other loop I liked that way was the loop Jack Pine was on.

trail 14 l'anse to big bay is one remote 40 miles and a favorite. lumberjack bar has some sorted history to look into.

highest point in mi. up that way, ice cliffs are nicer some years than others.

we like to back pack to marquette holiday inn from your direction.

coming home on trail 8, used as a loop, can be a whooped out son of a gun, i won't do it again.

fishweb michigan interactive mapping is a great resource.

while in l'anse don't miss the hilltop cafe sticky rolls.

We stay SW of Munising by Buckhorn Bar (10 mile east for us to Buckhorn). From our place to Big Bay is 110ish, depending on route. From our place to Big Springs about 70ish. To Miner’s Castle around 30+ miles. When we loop to Tfalls is is about 350 mile day.
