If I remember correctly, years ago, John had said the later the flip the better the winter! If that is true, we should be in for a doozy. I was just outside in my shorts, here in Greenville Wi and it is and has been a very warm fall for sure. Can't wait for some riding!

Overnight temps in the low teens here for the forecasted future. Should start to lock up the swamps and lakes pretty quickly.

I don't think we got as much snow as ND (or the wind) but I think it's flipped in northern MN. With the forecast temps over the next week or so, this probably isn't going anywhere.

The picture looks great Kelly, I think the snow will stay. We ended up with about 9" according to the NWS website but I would say it is more like 6". Looking at our 10 day forecast the warmest is forecast at 24 with most days only in the teens. I see the snow winner was the Bismarck area with about two feet.

Hopefully the later the flip the better not true for down here, snow coming here tomorrow and much colder by end of end of week, way too early for us here. Phone already ringing like crazy at shop this morning, we once again forgot what state we live in. Not a "late flip" for us here but hopefully an early sign of what's to come when winter does arrive

I think our flip has occured here, we received 5" over the week-end & it's snowing steadily as I type this. The remainder of the week looks to remain colder than average with light snows & possibly some LES. Hmmmmm.....

This early cold blast will help set up swamps and wet areas, before too much snow falls, which would be good head start compared to years before.
