Congrats on getting your computer back. It is amazing how much we rely on computers these days. Unfortunately I know so little about computers that when anything goes wrong it has to go to the computer guy.

We didn't even have calculators in school let alone computers. But I can do math without a calculator, not many kids can say that. This is kinda nice that I got a new (updated browser) and Quickbooks 2011 is light yrs. ahead of the 2005 version I had.

Yea it's funny when I talk to my kids and tell them that when I was in school there was no computers, internet, cell phones, cable tv and the phones at home had a cord attached to them plus, calculators did just the basics and we were not allowed to even use them.

WOW, sounds expensive, could have bought a brand new computer for that much money. Next time let me know, we may be close enough I could do it for you a little to no cost.

Half that was for a new Quick books Pro 2011 edition since my 2005 version was lost. ( thank God it accepted my back up copies of our Companies and the back ups were current.) Malwarebytes seems to be the latest greatest for anti-virus program.

Virus fix

I had a virus trojan that wanted to sell me its software to fixit.

My son is the IT guru for his company and has fixed my computer a number of times.

Here is what he does. hit the restart button and when the DELL logo(or whatever brand computer you have) comes up I hit F8 continiously until a screen comes up that has a number of options. Choose SAFE mode and follow prompts. Choose restore and you will see a calender of dates highlighted. pick one of the previous dates(this works only if you haven't downloaded something you need) and the system will be restored to that dates settings.

I don't know if you would dare use this method on a work computer but for home use it is just fine and costs nothing.

I'll bet that some of you that paid $$$ to fix your computer could use this method.
