Leaves down

I made a little trail on the back of my property this summer, mainly for walks and then in the winter something to snow shoe through or even a slow sled ride with my boys. I did notice when we went on the trail that almost all of my leaves are down. I just couldn't believe the difference in the last few days.

Here are a couple of shots.

Nice! I was up at the cabin the last two weekends (Iron Mountain area) and what a difference in the amount of leaves on the trees between the two weekends. But it was awful nice this last weekend so it hardly felt like Fall.

Actually these past couple weeks and the next couple are some of the nicest times to be in the woods, checking out nature.

Bird nests are visable, and the deer are actively searching for acorns....along with the squirrels.

If you like to just take it all in, this is high season for warm weather tramping...almost completely bugless...

Spring can have a few days like this, if you don't mind soggy feet. But fall is by far my favorite time to be out there, and then the snows come and the noises all wane away and you are really by yourself with nature.

Life is short.....take it in while you can do it!
