Legend 700 won't start

I have a 2002 Legend 700 that won't start. Using electric start, we hear a grinding noise from near the battery. I replaced the relays one at a time to no avail. The battery shows full charge and we even tried using a jump pack. The started does spin, but not fast enough to throw out the gear to engage. When I pull start, I get a good fat blue spark, but can't seem to get it started. Usually for the first start I have to crank this think on electric start for 30 or so seconds anyway, so maybe I just didn't pull it enough. Any thoughts?

My starter started that last year on the same sled, if I pulled the cord , a little it would work. The other day I actually had to pull start it cold for the first time ever and it took about 6 pulls after the starter finally crapped.v I would try pulling it a few more times.

If it is fuel injected you are probably not getting any fuel, the injectors need an electrical current to get them to work, pulling the cord will provide the necessary current, but will take awhile for the injector get the gas to the cylinder. So several pulls may be necessary. Same goes for the electric start if it is turning the engine but not starting make sure you are getting fuel, since you say you have spark.
