I can do the 19th.....bringing this old dog. Originally purchased at Kiilunen's in Lake Linden. Spent my teen years on this sled. Recently restored by me. IMAG0258.jpg IMAG0262.jpg edited_1451167599428.jpg

A few more pictures from the old days......and one more of my restoration. My family and I rode over 7,000 miles on that Jag 4000 before burning down a piston on Portage Lake in the early 90s. Many good rides with Kevin M, Joe B, the Ls, and others.......

I'm going to try and make this. I will be on a Bravo or a Puma. If I bring the Puma,I will finally be the guy with the newer fancy sled in the group.

What kind of temps are forecast up that way the next two weeks? We're going to be in the mid 60s around here.
Do you think the snow cover will hold up there for the vintage ride? Or may it be cancelled?

Not looking good for sustaining good snow. Jerry from the pitstop says he is not going to cancel. Still could pull this off. If we have any snow we can still make it a fun gathering! What do you guys think? I think we should decide just a few days before the 19th because anything could happen

Forecast sure doesn’t favor much in the way of new snow (or even keeping the current snow) but it is the U.P. Anything could happen I guess. I’m thinking that grooming is definitely done.

Don’t see why Jerry would cancel his Pitstop event. Most of the activities don’t really require snow or even freezing temps. The ride is probably the only thing that will take a hit.

Really torn on this one Lenny. Agree that it would still be fun to get together but I was really looking forward to a little vintage riding with some of the members. It’s a long drive to make and not get in any riding but I do have a couple of things to do in the U.P. and northern WI so I could piggy-back on those. Doubt if I would bring a sled though.

I probably have a more flexible schedule than most so I'm OK with waiting a few days to make the call.

Other people that were planning on attending, what do you think?

I am thinking the same as skiroule. I was really looking forward to an old time ride with a stop in the woods for bonfire, vollwerths, and a PBR or two. I am going to wait until next week to make a final decision.

Calling for cold the wed-sat before with possibility of snow. I can get us to snow and ride logging roads , cook out, that's not a problem!

Guys, I take this ride seriously and wouldn't steer you guys wrong but I seriously believe we can ride our sleds next sat. I can make a route that will be fine for us. We're going to continue to loose snow but wed on it cools down and below freezing with chance of some new snow. Let's not bail out yet, I think we can have some fun!

Well, you are a man of integrity.

I really perked up when you started talking logging roads and woods riding.

I've been checking the forecast about every 10 minutes or so. I'm liking the pattern for later next week and if it holds you just may be right. It will definitely be John Deere weather but it didn't miss a beat on a vintage ride in 51 degree weather last weekend. Would need to due a little more duct taping though. Noticed a few more loose pieces.

Think next Wednesday will be the pivotal day.

My buddy and I got a HusKee and a JD Spitfire and are begging for snow for one last trip to see our friends from the YoopP. Please bring on the cold and snow. I can already taste the Ball Parks and PBR. Hello from central WI.

OK Lenny, I'm in.....come snow or high water.

As it turns out, I have some friends that are going to be at the Pit Stop show and I need to drop off a sled for them anyway. Not sure if i'll bring any extra sleds but for sure I'll be bringing the rat rod John Deere - nothing runs like a Deere.

I have confidence you'll find some terrain to ride.
