Lets just say you had money to burn (like PR1 ;)) and you could choose anyplace in the U.P. to live, moneys no object. Where would you choose?

I would choose Eagle Harbor or the very near area. I have been to many areas of the U.P. and I think the Eagle Harbor area is just beautiful, peaceful, serene, etc. I would move tommorrow. I think the U.P. is calling me.

If we must play by your guide lines, I would buy the Mackinaw bridge for income, Mackinaw Island for income, All the ferry boats to lock in more income. Then I would buy straits state park for my Mansion and a yacht. The location is ideal to watch the bridge toll booths, boats and island. But then wit no option on money, I doubt I would ever be home.

well if money no object.
I would first buy back all the paper china holds on our national parks.
then when the usa defaults I will build my home in Yellowstone heat it with coal. then for 7 grams of gold a day I will allow all 2s toys free reign of the park.

Well if money were no object I'd try to buy Lenny's place but failing that I'd settle for Mount Houghton and few surrounding sections of land. A nice little two bedroom cabin perched on the east-northeast face would do just fine. One bedroom for us and one for our frequent snowmobiling guests.

If you've been to the top (which I think a lot of you have) I'm pretty sure you would agree that the view is pretty special.

I like sleddin anywhere in the yoop but buying real-estate there not so much then stuck in 1 area & not many buyers when you want to sell. You better luv winter & snow Nov into May. Sometimes it is better to dream & visit not buy.:)

I think I would buy a ranch or cabin out near Togwotee, like Turpin Meadow or something like that. Close enough to Jackson Hole I think my wife would enjoy it. I like the UP and all, but if money is no object, I probably would head somewhere else.

Fine. Then I'm either buying the rights to trail 107, or maybe it's 109 - whatever one heads north east of the grade in Watersmeet. Probably my favorite wide trail in the UP.

Or I'm buying the Northgate motel in Calumet. I can't remember what it's called now, but we always made that our ground zero when going on snowmobiling in college. Lots of different riding one can do in a day from that location.

I don't know the East side of the UP too well.

I know this is not the UP, but it is very close. If I had the cash I would be building a cabin on my property in Lando and closing my toolbox at work never to be seen down here again. I would then by some good hunting property in UP. I am living "part" of my dream just having the property in Lando, I can go there and just hang out and forget everything, I have said when I am there it is when I can actual "breathe" since when I'm in the rat race it is like holding your breath until I return.
