I spent a couple days staying in Waumandee about a month ago, and there are trails all over - hoping I can get over that way this year.
Nice scenic trails in this area. No matter which direction you head from Waumandee. If your only staying for a short weekend Waumandee good place to stay. If longer I would stay in Osseo. Ride Buffalo county couple days and Black River Falls area the other days. Osseo has cheap motel with bar and grill and they also have the Northwoods Brewpub in town now and right on the trail.

Years ago....I used to camp at governor dodge with scouts, and stay at eagle cave in spring green, and have been to house on rock a few times, mineral point. like the area out there, seems hilly and always wondered what the riding was like out that way. Have always wanted to even just do a day trip.

Many years ago, we would ride sleds up there about anytime we wished in snow season. Not that way now days!!! Some of the very best scenic riding anywhere!!!

X 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yea on that!!! Lets not forget the south western, and western Wis!!!!2008 as I remember was the last decent year/snow season for that area??? The wife and I made 3, or 4 trips to Richland Center, Viroque, Sparta, BFR areas. Short travel to get there, and so much enjoy the riding there!!! However, we no longer will ride, or stay/lodge in areas where they allow ATV/UTV's on the snowmobile trails. They will not get any money from us noway. None.

Yeah, and north western Minnesota. You can't forget about us extremely flat limited tree riding terrain!

Let me rephrase.... lets hope the moisture pattern keeps up for winter, but maybe not so extreme as we are dealing with. An inch of rain equals how much snow? we would be in a world of hurt. But... lets hope the roller coaster of temperatures doesn't continue either or it wont matter how much it snows
